Fitt, worldwide leader in the manufacture of flexible PVC hose for gardening and DIY, has always been driven by a strong passion for innovation, and by the aim to fully satisfy its clients.
Fitt’s research and development department has launched on the market an innovative professional gardening hose made with “Food Contact” quality materials. At the most recent Gafa fair in Cologne in 2006, Fitt introduced the innovative hose Acua, an alternative solution to standard PVC hose.
PVC material has always been the polymer that guarantees a garden hose with the best technical and mechanical performance. Plasticizers are used in this compound to make the material flexible and long-lasting; in time, however, these may transfer from the hose to the water, causing a significant loss of performance. Furthermore, some plasticizers, called phthalates, are undergoing careful scientific examination with regard to a possible limitation of their use.
Acua is based on a patented FCU – Food Contact Use – formulation where phthalates have been replaced with non-toxic and stable plasticizers, which are able to guarantee water purity and keep the hose characteristics unaltered over time. Acua embodies a concentration of the best of Fitt’s innovations: from NTS technology to new high quality “Food Contact”.
